Nelson gym nelson sport lab

The Nelson Sport Lab is a training facility founded on the principles of sports medicine.

Combining physical therapy, and strength and conditioning, The Lab is designed specifically to provide athletes everything they need to succeed on the ice, field, grass, pavement, water, or road.

Train with purpose.

Unlike other programs, we do not believe in “building” athletes, but rather supporting athletes. As the name suggests, a Lab is a place for experimentation, observation, and practice and in our case, this field of study is sports.

Sports training has changed considerably over the last 5 years. Athletes are stronger, faster, and smarter and so, training programs must stay ahead of the curve. Like sports, the way we train athletes at the lab is always changing and improving for the best interest of the athlete. While strength and conditioning and therapy will always have the same fundamentals, the “why” when choosing an exercise, or a treatment modality must always be questioned.

Built with athletes in mind

  • Purchasing equipment specialized for sport (Vertimax V8, K-Box, Keiser Machine, 9’x65’ Turf, Timing Gates, Dynamic handbells, Russian boxes, BlazePod, Normatec Recovery etc)

  • Tracking athlete progress with the TeamBuildr Application

  • Continually training our coaches with mandatory continuing education

  • LIke Lab reports, every workout is created with both coaches providing input and reviewing to ensure a top-quality program is created

  • Creating relationships with local professionals (Phsysio, MD, DC, Optometrists, RMT) to help build rehabilitation plans and ensure we have places to refer athletes when needed.

  • As a lab, it is all about professionalism. The Lab is a place to have fun, and enjoy, but once you enter, it's time to work. Training is expensive and time-consuming. We get it. Our promise to our athletes is that we will show up every day prepared and ready to go.
